Leah Shapera

Leah was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and moved to Vancouver in 1981.

She developed an interest in a variety of types of jewelry, but fell in love with silversmithing. Over the past 20 years, she has taken a wide variety of classes, courses and workshops in silversmithing and jewelry design. In addition to formal education, a number of her skills and approaches are self-taught.

Leah only uses sterling silver, and each piece of her jewelry is designed and hand-made in her home studio in Vancouver. Leah’s designs often include various texturing and finishing techniques, some of which include acid-etching, imprint designs, and forging. These finishes add depth and visual interest to her pieces, which often include the addition of high quality, semi-precious gemstones and pearls.
