Cynthia Head

Cynthia is a fine artist and weaver based in Vancouver, BC. Her baskets are made from Yellow Long Leaf Pine and/or Ponderosa Pine needles. Each piece is worked by coiling around a center, adding beads and wrapping threads to create a design. As a fine artist, Cynthia is drawn to the colour, intrigue, and expression of abstract art. Using various media, layers of marks, shapes, and paint lead to unexpected composition. Each piece is finished when the chaos emerges as a cohesive expression.
